Sending PropFuel Emails from your Domain
By default, all emails you send from PropFuel will come from "support@propfuel.com". In order to send from an email address associated with your domain, you will have to follow these steps to authenticate your domain with SendGrid, our email sending provider. These records are specific to PropFuel's SendGrid account, so even if you use SendGrid for other emails within your organization, you will need to create these records.
Adding a Domain
Navigate to your domain settings page, which can be found under Settings -> Advanced -> Domains
Click the "Add Domain" button, and enter the domain you would like to send from. Please enter only what appears after the "@" in your email address. So to send from "info@myassociation.com", you will enter "myassociation.com"
You domain will now show as "Unauthenticated" in your list of domains, please follow the next steps below to authenticate your domain for sending.
Authenticating a Domain by Updating your DNS Settings
Click on the "Authentication" button next to your domain in your list
You will need to create 3 CNAME records with the DNS provider for your domain. These records will authenticate your domain with our email provider, and allow email to be delivered to your contacts without hitting spam filters as unauthorized mailings.
You can copy the information individually to enter into your DNS provider's website, or if you scroll down, there is text you can copy that contains all of the information to pass along to your IT department or outside vendor who controls your domain. See below for DNS provider specific instructions on how to add these CNAME records.
Once the DNS records are added, click on the "Verify Records" button to check your configuration and verify the domain is ready to send in our system.
Sending From your Domain
Once your domain is authorized, you can send emails from that domain by setting the "Reply-to" address on your email templates. If that address belongs to a domain that is authenticated in your domain list, the email will come from that domain. If the reply-to email domain is not authenticated, the email will continue to be sent from propfuel.com.
A Note on SPF, DKIM, and TXT
SPF, DKIM, and TXT is covered for everyone who has authenticated their domain. The 3 CNAME records you create in your domain (DNS) settings will automatically create the these records.
