Build a SMS (Text Message) Campaign
SMS campaigns in PropFuel allow you to engage your audience through text messages, providing a quick and direct way to communicate. This guide walks you through creating, editing, and testing SMS campaigns.
STEP 1: Create your Campaign
In PropFuel, go to the Campaigns tab and click Create Campaign.
Campaign Name: Give your campaign a descriptive name.
Channel: Choose SMS.
Interaction: Choose Outbound.
Scheduling: Choose Scheduled (Check-ins are sent on a specific date and time) or Sequence (A drip campaign where check-ins are sent based on the contact’s enrollment date and designated wait periods).
Click Create Campaign.
STEP 2: Compose Your Message
Click "Add Check-in"
Insert your SMS content.
Hover over the (?) icon to review your credit usage.
Message Tools
Attachments (📎 Paperclip Icon) – Attach images or files to your message. Note: Adding attachments reduces your character limit and may use additional credits.
Emoji Keyboard (😊 Smile Icon) – Insert emojis into your message. Keep in mind that adding emojis lowers your character limit.
Link Shortener (🔗 Link Icon) – PropFuel’s built-in link shortener. Enter a long URL, and we’ll generate a custom shortlink to save characters.
Embed Check-in (📝 Text Box Icon) – Insert an embedded check-in link, allowing contacts to respond via an external embed campaign in their web browser—similar to how branch questions [LINK] work in email campaigns.
Personalization Tokens (🔖 License Icon) – Personalize your message using dynamic tokens like the contact’s first name or expiration date, just like in email campaigns.
Rules & Tips for Writing Your SMS Message
Keep it concise: messages can be 160 characters maximum (for messages without emojis or attachments) or 60 characters maximum (for messages with emojis or attachments).

Check character and credit usage: Hover over the ”?” icon to see your available credits and how many credits your message will use.
Use Personalization Tokens: Click the license icon (🔖) to insert tokens like {{FirstName}} to personalize your message.
Shorten long links: Use the link shortener (🔗) to reduce URL length and conserve character space.
Add attachments sparingly: Click the paperclip icon (📎) to attach files. Adding an attachment reduces your character limit to 60. Exceeding this will increase credit usage.
Use emojis carefully: Click the smile icon (😊) to insert emojis. Adding emojis reduces your character limit to 60. Exceeding this will increase credit usage.
Include an Embed Check-in (if needed): Click the text box icon (📝) to insert a check-in link. This allows recipients to answer a question through a mobile-friendly PropFuel campaign page.

Double-check the message and settings.
Click Save & Continue to move forward.
Now you’re ready to test and send your campaign.
