Test a SMS (text message) Campaign
Testing your SMS campaign before sending it to your audience ensures that your message appears correctly, links work, and personalization tokens populate as expected. Follow these steps to test your PropFuel SMS campaign:
Step 1: Navigate to Your SMS Campaign
Log in to PropFuel.
Go to the Campaigns section.
Locate the SMS campaign you want to test and click on it.
Step 2: Use the Test Feature
Inside the campaign Design tab, Click the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of your check-in.
Click Send Test Email.
Enter the phone number where you want to receive the test message.
‼️ To test a SMS campaign, your phone number must be in your PropFuel record. To add your phone number, navigate to Contacts > click the magnifying glass, type in your email address, click your name to open your
Click Send Test to deliver the test SMS.
Step 3: Review Your Test Message
Check your phone to ensure the SMS was received.
Verify the following:
The message appears as expected.
Personalization tokens (e.g., {{FirstName}}) are replaced with actual values.
Links are working correctly.
Emojis and attachments display properly.
Step 4: Make Adjustments if Needed
If any issues are found, return to the campaign editor.
Modify the message content, personalization tokens, or attachments as necessary.
Send another test SMS to confirm the changes.
Step 5: Proceed with Sending or Scheduling
Once the test message looks correct, proceed to schedule or send the SMS campaign.
💡 Tip: SMS messages have character limits. If your message exceeds the limit due to emojis or attachments, it may use multiple credits. Always check the credit usage before sending.
