How Membership AI uses your data

Edited

This article is the brief overview of how Membership AI handles and processes your data. For PropFuel’s full AI policy, check out app.propfuel.com/ai-policy.

Is my data being used to train AI models?

No. Every AI model we use runs with zero data retention contractually enabled. We also route our AI requests through an intermediary so that the AI labs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) never see your data directly. Your data is not used to train any model.

Is my members' personal information being sent to AI?

No. Names, email addresses, and other personally identifiable information are not sent into AI calls. The AI works with patterns and context, not identifiable member records.

Can Membership AI send something to my members without my approval?

No. Membership AI drafts, suggests, summarizes, and surfaces patterns. You approve every segment, every piece of copy, and every campaign before anything goes out. Nothing ships to your members without a human hitting send.

Then how is the AI smart enough to make good recommendations?

The recommendations come from two places. First, our team’s collective expertise, built over two decades in the association membership space, is distilled into the foundational best practices that the AI utilizes. Second, your organization's own context – your goals, your campaigns, your membership structure. We don't copy other clients' campaigns. We apply general best practices to your specific data.

Who else has access to my data?

PropFuel uses subprocessors (like AWS, where the platform is hosted) under contractual agreements that prohibit them from using your data for their own purposes. Your data is yours. The full list of subprocessors and the contractual terms are in our AI policy.

I had to sign an AI use policy at my organization. Do I need separate approval to use this?

Your organization has a contract with PropFuel that covers how we provide this service. If your internal AI policy team has specific questions, send them our AI policy page, and we'll help them work through anything they need.
