Copying an Existing Email Campaign

Edited

There are a few main reasons you may want to copy a PropFuel campaign:

  1. You have a previously run campaign you'd like to re-run for this year or season.

  2. You are looking to have multiple versions of a campaign, and it'll be more efficient to copy your existing draft and make adjustments as appropriate for different audiences.

  3. You have a scheduled campaign that has already sent, and you need the same check-in(s) to go to a new group of contacts.

Here's a step-by-step guide of how to copy an existing campaign:

Steps to Copy a Campaign

  1. Click on the campaign you'd like to copy, and navigate to the Settings tab.

  2. Scroll down to the "Handy Tools" section and click Copy Campaign.

  3. Choose the new campaign name and decide whether you'd like to copy the templates as well (this is on by default). Then select Copy Campaign.

  4. You now have your campaign copied. A copied campaign by default is exactly the same as the original campaign with a few important exceptions:

    • Enrolled segments are removed: You'll need to re-add your segments in the Contacts tab.

    • Action workflows are turned off: Any action workflows in the campaign will still be there but toggled off. You'll need to review and turn them back on.

    • Branch questions are not copied: If your campaign includes branch questions (web/external pages), you'll need to copy those separately if you want this campaign to have its own branch data. You can copy a branch question the same way you copied the campaign, just make sure to replace the redirect to another questions with your new branch question!

  5. Start with the first check-in and review it looking at the question, email template and workflows.

  6. Repeat as needed for each check-in within the campaign.

  7. If you're copying a campaign you're not very familiar with, we encourage you to send yourself test emails to experience the campaign for yourself!

  8. Once you're confident you've made all the changes you'd like, enroll your contacts. You can do this by:

    • Adding segments: Navigate to the Contacts tab and add your segments to the Included Segments section, also add any suppression segments. Choose your sync behavior (Continuous Sync, Add Only, or Fixed) based on your campaign needs.

    • CSV upload: Use the 3-dot menu in the Enrolled Contacts section to upload contacts directly via CSV.

  9. Make sure to also check your settings for reminders and sending window to adjust to the timing you would like.

  10. Once all done turn the campaign to live! Your branch questions should turn to live automatically.
